About:
Autonumbering option is used to amend the document code format for every type of record in Interprise Suite. The record types are grouped by modules. You may change the default prefix, current number and number width for each document code.
Steps:
Amend autonumbering or document codes
- Go to the System Manager Module.
- Select Autonumbering menu item under the Tools menu. The Autonumbering form will display.
- You may change the default Prefix, e.g. change SO to ORDER#.
- The values in the Number column are the
current number of the transaction in the system.
Note:
As you create new records in Interprise Suite, this number is updated. Note that changing the number after records are created would cause an inconsistency in the records. - You may change the default Number Width if you’re expecting a very large volume of records for a particular document type such as sales orders. The maximum number for the number width is 9.
- Save the details before closing the Autonumbering form. The new document code will be applied to the new records after the autonumbering was modified. Document codes from old records will remain the same.
How To:
- Go to the System Manager Module.
- Select Autonumbering under the Setup menu. The Autonumbering form will display.
- Edit the details as necessary and save before closing.
