About:
Country is usually the foremost information that needs to be provided when creating new entities (customer or suppliers). This is because the country detail is responsible for assigning defaults to use. Default currency, language, address and postal code settings and default class templates to use.
Note:
Interprise Suite includes all 238 countries and includes an option
to add other countries and independent areas.
Steps:
Maintain Country Information

Go to the System Manager module.

Select Country under the Maintain menu. The Country setup form will display.

In this example, the details of the country, Canada is amended.

Search for the country in the List tab. You can search by using key words, e.g. Canada. In the Detail tab, the details of the selected country are displayed.

The Three Letter ISO Code, "CAN" and the Numeric ISO Code, "124". This information may be used in looking up countries in the records by ISO code.

The default Currency can be optionally changed.

The default Language can be changed to your default language. If the language you need is not in the list, you can include the language in the Selling Languages option of the Inventory Module. See Also: Selling Languages

The Flag Icon can be optionally replaced with another image by clicking on the Flag button.

You can put in Area Code Masking to automatically set the area code apart from the local telephone number.
Note:
An example would be (###). Since the United States and Canada have the same 5 digit telephone number, you can put in +1 (###) - ###-#### in the mobile phone format, landline and fax format fields to automatically format telephone numbers for customers in Canada. -
Define postal code settings:

Searchable Postal Codes – this option lets you select postal codes in the Postal Code field is the country is selected.

Auto Add Postal Code – this option will enable automatic recording of newly entered postal codes in the Postal Code field. The new postal code entered in the Postal Code field will be recorded in Interprise Suite.

European Union – this option allows you to include the country to the European Union and include the customers and suppliers within the country for Intrastat Analysis. See Also: Confirm Intrastat Analysis for EU Customer Transactions | EU Supplier Transactions

Assign default class templates:

Default Retail/Consumer class template – for retail customers

Customer: Select the default Customer Class template to use as default for the customer billing.
Note:
You may update the customer class template by double-clicking on the link in the Customer field. See Also: Customer Setup > Customers > Customer Class Templates. -
Ship To: Select the default Ship To Class template to use as default for the customer shipping.

Get default from postal code: This option allows you to use default class templates from the postal codes. The Searchable Postal Code checkbox must be checked to enable this option. See Also: System Setup > Postal Code

Default Wholesale/Business class template – for business customers

How To:
Any country except the one selected for your company can be inactivated.
- From the Country setup form, select the country to inactivate.
- In the Detail tab, uncheck the Active checkbox.
- Save before closing the Country setup form.
Note that countries included in the 238 default countries in Interprise Suite may not be deleted because they are linked to other setup items such as class templates.
- From the Country setup form, select the country to delete.
- In the Detail tab, click on the Delete option in the toolbar menu.
- Choose Yes in the prompt to delete.
