About:
Departments specify the section or division in the organization where a person specializes.
Steps:
Define Departments
- Go to the System Manager module.
- Select Department under the Maintain menu. The Department setup form is displayed.
- Click New button to add a new line.
- Enter source e.g. Purchasing in the Department column.
- Click the Active checkbox.
- Save the details before closing the Department setup form.

- In the Department setup form, select the department in the list.
- Uncheck the Active checkbox.
- Save the details before closing the Department setup form.
Note that department that are assigned to class templates or entities or used in any transaction may not be deleted.
- In the Department setup form, select the deaprtment to delete.
- Click on the Delete option in the toolbar menu.
- Choose Yes in the prompt to delete.
